Vellum 4.1: More Control, Less Guesswork

Announcing Vellum 4.1! This release delivers expanded heading controls, improved Word import, and a range of refinements shaped by your suggestions.

Heading Image Controls

If you’ve been using Heading Preset Settings, you’ll find even more to work with in Vellum 4.1. You can now control Heading Images with position and size options, plus a new Include In setting to make them ebook-only.

Default Author Name

Worried a book might not use your pen name? We’ve got you covered, Mr. Bachman. In Vellum’s Settings, you can now specify a default author name for all new books.

Cleaner, Clearer Word Import

We’ve made targeted improvements to Import’s chapter detection, and significant expansions to our help pages. Review our new guide to Preparing Your Word File, or learn how to handle more complex manuscripts with Supplemental Word Styles.

  • Fixed resolution of scaled heading images

Vellum 4.1 is a free update. This version requires macOS Ventura (13) or newer.
